Its election time again and time to be responsible to the people!
This is the second anniversary of our moving to Danville. It is a beautiful city with great houses, a reverence for trees, flowers and neat lawns. The educational system in Danville and Boyle County stands in a class by itself. Centre College is well known all over the nation as one of the bright jewels of higher education. The campus is so beautiful that one enjoys driving or walking through it to show it off to visitors.
However, a dangerous situation, and one which could be corrected in little more than 30 days if those elected set their minds to it, is Indian Hills where I live. It is a lovely place to live and is growing. However, the people who live down here must be careful to say goodbye to those they leave behind before leaving home and having to cross onto the Lexington Road race track! We desperately need a traffic light to be able to get out. Two or three would be wonderful but we would settle for one. Another thing that would improve the situation would be to reduce the speed limit to 35 miles an hour from Grabruck on down Lexington. Sufficient policing by both local and state officers and the fining of offenders would very soon bring these "demons" under control. We will vote for anyone for anything who will promise to work on this problem!
