Nov. 2 is fast approaching and we, the registered voters of our "nice" little community, will have to make decisions on who we will elect to lead us in the next two years. In one particular race, city commissioner, we have four seats that must be filled by eight qualified candidates. However, there is one seat that we wish you would definitely fill on election day and that is in the person of present commissioner Chester Kavanaugh.
Mr. Kavanaugh is an intelligent, highly skilled, loyal, dedicated, honest, caring, and Christian husband, father, grandfather, brother, cousin and friend who takes his responsibility as commissioner very seriously. He strives to do the best he can to continue making Danville a "City of Firsts." He is a people person who cares about the well-being of all. He is not and never have has been a "yes man" or "crony" of the mayor. No one can buy his vote or soul. He takes stands on issues of importance to our city, and sometimes he stands alone. No commissioner or elected official does everything his constituents desire, but Kavanaugh will admit his mistakes.
