I read with disgust and embarrassment the vote on the ongoing question of library location for the Harvey Helm Memorial Library, which is Lincoln County's public library. The vote to turn down free land and free money is beyond me when all the experts seem to agree that the downtown "free" location is more than adequate. What is the problem?
Whose money are they using anyway? From the looks of my property tax bill, it appears that they are playing fast and loose with my money and that of every other property owner in Lincoln County. There has to be some other recourse for the taxpayers of Lincoln County. Why not put the question to a public vote?
I am a regular user of the public library, and I do not mind going downtown at all. In fact, it is more convenient at a downtown location.
