SOMERSET - The Danville boys' season ended with a 3-2 loss to Pulaski Southwestern in a 15th Region Tournament semfinal Monday night.
Danville (10-11-1) led 2-1 after Jeffrey Ricker scored off an assist from Josh Rice less than two minutes into the second half, but Southwestern (15-5) scored twice off corner kicks in the final 28 minutes to advance to tonight's regional final against Adair County.
"It was a tough match with two well-matched opponents," Danville assistant coach Keith Madill said. "The coaches were very puoud of the way that they played and their effort. We were playing well at the end of the year."
Chris Bright put Danville on the board in the third minute, scoring off an assist from Matthew Schulz. Southwestern's Jordan Bagley scored about two minutes later, and the score stayed at 1-1 through halftime.
