Howe's experience would greatly aid the city

October 27, 2004

Dear Editor:

While we were still lliving in Albuquerque, N.M., but contemplating a move to Kentucky, I researched active Toastmasters Clubs in Central Kentucky. I found Gordon Howe in Danville. I called immediately; the voice on the other end of the line was warm, friendly, articulate, and quite informative, not only about Toastmasters Clubs in the area, but about Danville and Kentucky.

We moved to Kentucky in 1992, and two pluses for Danville were Gordon Howe and a Toastmasters Club. "Gordie" and I quickly became friends and he served as my Toastmaster mentor. We remain friends, and I a have a lot of respect for him.

Gordon is treasurer of District 40 Toastmasters International, which encompasses the states of Kentucky, Ohio and West Virginia.

He is an accomplished public speaker. He is not afraid to voice his opinions, and he does so eloquently, both in speaking and writing.

Gordon Howe is well-versed in community affairs. He serves on the Danville-Boyle County Recreation Board and his record of attendance at city commission meetings probably rivals the commissioners.

During his 30 years in industry, Gordon was an industrial engineer and cost analyst. He also was employed by Ephraim McDowell Regional Medical Center as a distribution supervisor. His many years in cost analysis will greatly aid the city in money management.

Gordon and his lovely wife, Gail, have five talented adult children.

I certainly am voting for Gordon Howe, and for the good of our city, I urge you to do the same.
