Nov. 2 is an important day for voters in Danville. After reading Sunday's editorial about the many "wrong-headed decisions" made by the current Danville City Commission, I agree that citizens of Danville need to vote for a change. We need to elect individuals who will represent all the people and be willing to make the tough decisions in shaping Danville's future. We need somebody who will listen and work with all community agencies and government employees in the best interest of Danville.
As a former secretary of Bate Middle School, I worked for over 15 years with the candidate who I know will provide the much-needed leadership and experience. As a former principal at Bate Middle School and Boyle Middle School and as a former mayor and city commissioner, Alex Stevens has the qualities that Danville needs at this time. The Advocate-Messenger was right with the endorsement of breaking up the voting bloc with the Danville City Commission; however, they failed to endorse the most experienced of all the candidates running for office.
