The Centre College volleyball team celebrated its senior night with a three-game sweep of Transylvania, winning 30-22, 30-22, 30-22 at Alumni Gymnasium.
"The team played very well," Centre coach Stephanie Dragan said. "Sometimes it's hard to come back and get focused after celebrating senior night, and the girls did exactly that."
Leah Ballinger, one of three four-year starters in the four-woman senior class, had 31 assists for the Colonels. Among the others, Danielle Norman had 10 kills and Lisa Fryman had 10 digs. Whitney Faust, the team's other senior, had three solo blocks and two service aces.
Megan McElveen also had two aces for the Colonels (22-9), who had seven in all.
"We did a great job serving," Dragan said.
McElveen had 10 digs, and Sarah Burger had 15 kills, two block solos and three block assists.
Centre hosts an eight-team tournament this weekend, and Dragan said the field includes four nationally ranked teams.
