LIBERTY - A Casey County man has been arrested for vote buying, state police said.
Edgar J. Ellis was arrested at 6:27 p.m. Tuesday 12 miles north of Liberty on Ky. 78 in northern Casey County. He was charged with making "an expenditure to a person to vote - not to vote - for - against," according state Troopers Alex Wesley and Greg Brown.
Ellis, 57, of 5427 Ky. 78, Hustonville, was lodged in the Casey County Detention Center. He was released on a $1,000 cash bond. The arrest is a result of an on-going investigation into vote buying in the county, according to a state police press release.
