P&Z harassing Brousseau

November 03, 2004

Dear Editor:

I have been following the continuing saga of the Danville-Boyle County Planning and Zoning Commission and their witch hunt concerning Mr. Andre Brousseau. I started to get just a little suspicious when I read that Ms. Paula Bary just happened to stumble on the fact that the Old Crown Inn was not in total compliance with the zoning rules as she was going through some papers.

Now, I read that Mr. Brousseau is 40 feet too far from the road, making him in violation of the zoning rules. Forty feet is about 12 steps. Sounds like someone is really looking for some reason to put Mr. Brousseau out of business. It seems to me that the P&Z commission has a lot of time on their hands and money to waste if they plan to sue over 40 feet of the business owner's own land.

I recently paid a visit to the Old Crow Inn and found a clean place of business with friendly employees who were enforcing all laws concerning a business licensed to sell spirits.

When I think about this situation, I can almost hear the hobnailed boots as the P&Z storm troopers raid the Old Crow Inn.

Surely the P&Z commission has more to do than harass Mr. Brousseau.

Come on Ms. Bary, find something else to occupy your time and leave Mr. Brousseau alone.
