Sevier H. Austin

Sevier Henderson Austin, 78, of Hancock Street, Junction City, died Tuesday in Junction City.

Born March 20, 1926, in Colburn, Va., he was a son of the late Andrew J. and Daisy Wheeler Austin. He was a retired employee of General Motors Fisher Body Co. in Detroit, Mich., a World War II Army veteran and a member of Junction City Christian Church. He had been captain of Junction City Rescue Squad, a member of Junction City Council and the widower of Zula Ferrell Austin.

Survivors include a daughter, Debbie Reardon of Junction City; a grandson; and four stepgrandchildren.

He was preceded in death by a son, Dale Austin.

Services will be 11 a.m. Saturday at Stith Funeral Home by Ken Hall. Burial will be in Junction City Cemetery.

Visitation will be 4-8 p.m. Friday.

Memorials may go to Heritage Hospice.

A.J. Hatfield

HARRODSBURG - A.J. Hatfield, 82, of Jackson Pike, died Tuesday at James B. Haggin Memorial Hospital.


Born June 17, 1922, in Lancaster, he was the son of the late Everett and Lillie Mae Naylor Hatfield. He was a farmer and an Army veteran of World War II. He was a member of Bohon Christian Church, where he served as an elder, and a member of Bluegrass Horse Pullers Association.

Survivors include his wife, Lorraine Gastineau Hatfield; two sons, Billy J. Hatfield and Kevin Hatfield, both of Harrodsburg; a daughter, Carol Phillips of Willisburg; eight grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren.

Services will be 1 p.m. Friday at Alexander & Royalty Funeral Home by Jim Terry and Leonard Price. Burial will be in Lancaster Cemetery with military rites.

Pallbearers will be Chris Hatfield, Brad Darland, Jamie Cecil, Dale McCauley, Art Gaffney and Kenny Tapp.

Visitation is 5-9 p.m. today and after 7 a.m. Friday at Alexander & Royalty Funeral Home.,

Roy W. Arnold

Services for Roy W. Arnold, 94, of East Lexington Avenue, will be 1 p.m. Friday at The Presbyterian Church of Danville by Odis Clark and the Rev. Harris Schultz. Burial will be in Bellevue Cemetery.

He died Monday at his home.

Pallbearers will be Thad Overmeyer, Doug Arnold, Ernie Arnold, Aaron Clarke, Sam Reid, Bill Dishman, Bill Payne and Doug Arnold Jr.

Honorary pallbearers are Dr. Sam Reid, Joseph Frankel, W.T. Isaac, Oliver Payne, Ansel Herndon, Clemens Caldwell and J.T Goggans.

Visitation is after 5 p.m. today at Stith Funeral Home.

Memorials may go to Heritage Hospice, The Presbyterian Church of Danville, Indian Hills Christian Church or Salvation Army.
