LIBERTY - Two Casey County road department employees have been reprimanded by Fiscal Court after they apparently got into a fight last week, according to Judy Allen, county deputy judge-executive.
County Judge-Executive Ronald Wright, after a two-hour executive session Monday, took full responsibility "for the things that had happened concerning the two employees." The workers were not named in the open court meeting.
The men will receive a written letter from County Attorney Thomas M. Weddle Jr., with the formal reprimand. Wright said if the two employees can shake hands and get along, they can go back to work, but will be on probation for the duration of their employment with the county. If another incident occurs, the two employees automatically will be terminated, the judge-executive said.
The two had been on a three-day unpaid leave since Wednesday.
After the executive session attended by the four magistrates and county attorney, Wright said all the road department workers were interviewed about the incident.
