The Salvation Army is asking you to be an "Angel of Hope" this holiday season.
The army runs many programs "to give back hope to those who have lost it throughout the community," explained Captain Zachary Bell.
Programs like the Angel Tree and kettles help more than 1,000 people in Boyle, Lincoln, Garrard, Mercer and Casey counties.
You can be an angel of hope by volunteering, donating money to the kettles, or participating in the Angel Tree.
"Over 700 families will be given back hope because of the angels in this community giving a donation of money or time," said Bell.
"This five-county community is the only community in the state that has totally volunteer kettles. That says a lot about the community. They take true ownership in trying to help those in need."
