SOMERSET - Megan Pitts hit two free throws with seven seconds left to give the Lincoln County girls a 57-55 victory over Pulaski County on the opening night of the high school basketball season.
Pitts' points helped Lincoln pull out a game that was close for most of three quarters after the Lady Patriots erased a 22-9 deficit.
Amber Statham, who led Lincoln with 15 points, hit three 3-pointers in the second quarter to spark the rally.
"We had a big lift from Statham that got us back in it, and it was pretty much nip and tuck from there on in," Lincoln coach John Kolasa said.
Kendra Garris also had four rebounds in the period for Lincoln, which outscored Pulaski 15-5 to pull within 27-24 at halftime.
