Kitty Adoption Day is Saturday

Hopewell Rescue, Sadie's Place, Home at Last and Anderson County Humane Society, all nonprofit organizations, will host a "Kitty Portable Adoption Day" from 1-5 p.m. Saturday at Tractor Supply, Danville. The groups will bring adoptable cats in cages for people to see. The cats can be adopted on the premises. Fees may vary by organization.

Also, pet photos with Santa Claus will be held during the event. All proceeds go to benefit the nonprofit organizations as well as those who are trying to find homes for homeless animals. For more information, call (859) 734-3690.

CCHS to have jewelry, purse sale

LIBERTY - Silver jewelry and purses will be sold 3-4:30 p.m. Monday in the Casey County High School library to benefit high school programs.


The public is invited to help the school by taking advantage of the sale which will have quality gifts available.

Winterfest is Saturday in Liberty

LIBERTY - Winterfest will be held from 1-5 p.m. Saturday at Gate Way Park. The event that includes an auction and Santa Shop is a fund-raiser for Relay for Life.

A bake sale, food booths and 1 p.m. auction are part of the event. The auction features country hams, tools, toys and farm gates. Santa will be in the Santa Shop.

Fletcher's field offices open in December

FRANKFORT - Gov. Ernie Fletcher has announced the December field hours for the Bluegrass region representatives of the Local Initiatives for a New Kentucky, or LINK program.

LINK consists of seven regional offices throughout the state, which are staffed with representatives from the region. Field representatives travel throughout their regions and hold monthly hours. These office hours are open to the public and allow people to speak face to face with their regional representatives.

In Garrard County, the field hour is 2-3 p.m. Dec. 16 at the Garrard County Courthouse, county judge-executive' s office.

In Mercer County, the field hour is 2-3 p.m. Dec. 20 at the Fiscal Court Building.

In Boyle County, the field hour is 11 a.m.-noon Dec. 21 at the Boyle County Courthouse, county judge-executive's office.

In Lincoln County, the field hour is 2-3 p.m. Dec. 21 at Harvey Helm Memorial Library.
