Joseph Clausen

CRAB ORCHARD - Joseph Sylvester Clausen, 85, of Crab Orchard, died Thursday at Stanford House Nursing Home.

Born Sept. 29, 1919, in Ottenheim, he was the son of the late Liberatus and Mary Busse Clausen. He was a retired farmer, WWII Army veteran and a member of St. Sylvester Catholic Church.

Survivors include his wife, Mildred Harris Clausen; two sons, Dennis Ray Clausen of Crab Orchard and Joseph Darrell Clausen of Waynesburg; a brother, Clem Clausen of Pleasant Plan, Ohio; four grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

Services will be 11 a.m. Monday at St. Sylvester Catholic Church in Ottenheim by Thobias Sabariar. Burial will be in Saint Sylvester Catholic Church Cemetery with military honors by Caswell Saufley American Legion Post 18.


Pallbearers will be Richard Clausen, Mike Coers, Joe Mohinners, Dale Osterman, and Billy, Tommy, Mike and Buddy Schuler.

Honorary pallbearer is Ernest Hopkins.

Visitation will be after 6 p.m. today at McKnight Funeral Home, and after 10 a.m. Monday at Saint Sylvester Catholic Church.

Betty Sims

BARDSTOWN - Betty F. Sims, 67, formally of McKinney, died Saturday at her home in Bardstown.

She was the widow of Randall Sims.

Arrangements are incomplete at Fox Funeral Home.


Lula Camel

LANCASTER - Services for Lula Mae Camel, 79, of Lancaster, will be 2 p.m. Monday at Ramsey Funeral Home by the Rev. Anthony Cooper. Burial will be in Lancaster Cemetery.

She died Friday at the Christian Care Center of Lancaster.

Born Nov. 3, 1925, in Garrard County, she was the daughter of the late Omer and Effie Harp Shearer. She was a homemaker and a member of the Lancaster Church of the Nazarene. She was the widow of Ed Calvin Camel.

Survivors include a daughter, Mary Baker of Lancaster; three sons, John Camel of Lexington, Lucien Camel of Boyle County and Ernest Camel of Preachersville; two brothers, Bill Shearer of Mitchellsburg and Omer Shearer, Jr. of Stanford; two sisters, Christine Rutledge of Norwood, Ohio, and Marie Whitehouse of Junction City; 23 grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be the grandchildren.

Visitation will be 5:30-9 p.m. today.
