Christmas parade winners named

Heart of Danville announced the following winners of the 2004 Christmas Parade float contest. First-place winners received $100, second-place $50 and third-place $25.

* Industry: first, Philips Lighting; second, Ephraim McDowell Regional Medical Center; and third, Inter-County Energy.

* Business: first, Danville Centre for Health and Rehabilitation; second, Drive Smart Kentucky; third, Liberty Tax; and fourth, Fort Knox Credit Union.

* Non-commercial: first, Boyle County Lambs Club; second, Veterans of Foreign Wars; and third, Red Cross.

Winners can pick up their prizes at the Heart of Danville offices at 100 E. Main St.

LCHS chorus to give concert

STANFORD - The Lincoln County High School Chorus will present its annual Christmas concert at 7 p.m. Saturday and 2:30 p.m. Sunday in the high school auditorium.


The performances will feature the beginning, intermediate and advanced choruses under the direction of Stuart Underwood. Included in the program are many traditional carols with new settings and many new and original pieces. Both sacred and secular music will be included.

Tickets are $2 and may be purchased by calling (606) 365-9111, ext. 733. Due to limited seating in the auditorium, tickets may or may not be available at the door. The doors will open 30 minutes prior to each concert.

Snow Queen named at Stanford parade

Brittany Camenisch was crowned Snow Queen Saturday night at the annual Christmas parade sponsored by the Stanford-Lincoln County Chamber of Commerce.

First runner-up was Sarah Stevens; and second runners-up were Cassie Barnett and Brittney House.

Seventeen Lincoln County High School girls competed.
