Twilight Christmas canceled

FORKLAND - The Twilight Christmas Celebration at Forkland Community Center has been canceled this year.

Breakfast set for Santa Claus

Santa Claus will come to breakfast from 8-11 a.m. Saturday at SS. Peter and Paul Catholic Church, 117 W. Main St.

Tickets are $1.50 for children and $3 for adults.

Photos with Santa will be available for $1.

The event is sponsored by the Danville-Harrodsburg Knights of Columbus.

Compassionate Friends to light candles

Compassionate Friends, Mercer-Boyle County Chapter No. 1819, will participate in a Worldwide Candle Lighting Service with a program at 6:30 p.m. before the candle lighting at 7 p.m. Sunday at Lexington Avenue Baptist Church. A time for refreshments and sharing will follow.


Participants may bring a picture of their child, a candle for lighting, and an appetizer or dessert.

Setup will be from 6:10-6:25 p.m.


Junction City Council - 7 p.m. Thursday at City Hall to discuss appointment of a representative to the Community Development Council, planning and zoning recommendation and employees' Christmas. Stroke Screening

Liberty Planning and Zoning Commission - 4:30 p.m. today at City Hall.

The special meeting is to consider requests for Delas Earles, Judy Phillips and Eric and Kim Stonecypher.
