A Hazel Green man was arrested after he allegedly drove into a parked Boyle County school bus and left the scene Monday afternoon.
Justin N. Gibbs, 21, was charged with driving under the influence of intoxicants, leaving the scene of an accident, and first-degree criminal mischief and taken to the Boyle County Detention Center.
The Boyle County Sheriff's Department said the school bus was parked on Ky. 300 in Alum Springs about 2:58 p.m. when a 2004 Chevrolet Colorado pickup truck allegedly driven by Gibbs struck it. The driver left the scene and traveled on Ky. 300 toward Parksville. He attempted to turn right onto Ky. 34 but ran off the road and into a ditch.
Both the school bus and the pickup truck had extensive damage, police said. Deputy Sheriff Merl Baldwin investigated.
