Potts celebrate 50 years

The Rev. Bobby and Deloris Mavylene Potts of Danville celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary with a special church service ministered by their son, followed by a reception given by the children.

They were married Nov. 27, 1954 in Danville by Rev. Hutchinson.

Rev. Potts is a retired assistant fire chief in Danville. He and his wife have led the Pentecostal Church of God in Harrodsburg for the past 25 years.

They have four sons, Bobby Joe Potts, David Potts, Donald Potts and Jerry Potts, all of Danville. They have six grandchildren.


Highs celebrate 50 years

Mr. and Mrs. Jerry E. High Jr. of Junction City will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary with a party from 1-4 p.m. Saturday at the Junction City Community Center given by their family. Friends are asked not to bring gifts but to write down a favorite memory of the couple.

They were married Dec. 18, 1954, at the groom's father's house by the Rev. Homer Carter.

They have three children, Jayne Leffew, Jerry E. High III, and Joel High, all of Junction city; seven grandchildren; and are expecting a great-grandchild.
