Casey man injured in crash

LIBERTY - A Creston man was injured Dec. 1 in a one-vehicle crash on Ky. 206 near Creston, police said.

Reginald H. Lewis, 22, of Water Tower Road, was transported to Casey County Hospital for treatment, according to Casey County Sheriff Jerry Coffman.

Lewis' vehicle dropped off the wet pavement , went out of control, turned over, hit a tree and flipped on its top.

Truck driver injured in Casey crash

LIBERTY - The driver of a tractor-trailer truck was injured when his vehicle was hit Monday by a 1994 Mazda on Caney Fork Road, said Casey County Sheriff Jerry Coffman.


Robert K. Brown, 30, of 855 Angel Ridge Road, Kings Mountain, who was driving an International semi for Somerset Food Service Inc., Somerset, was transferred to Casey County Hospital for treatment for knee and elbow pain.

Kathy S. King, 48, driver of the Mazda, lost control of her vehicle in a curve and it reportedly skidded into the semi, according to Coffman.

Two hurt in Saturday crash

LIBERTY - A driver and his passenger were injured Saturday when the vehicle they were in collided with a 1997 Ford van on Ky. 49 near here, according to a report by Casey Deputy Sheriff Dennis Allen.

Richard L. Dean, 44, and passenger, Carisa Dean, 27, both of 9976 Ky. 1547, Liberty, were taken to Casey County Hospital for treatment.

The Deans were in a 1994 Pontiac Firebird when it was struck by the van. The van was headed south and attempted to pass another vehicle in a curve, the report showed. After impact, the Dean vehicle ran off the right shoulder of the road. The van also ran off the right shoulder, skidded sideways and overturned. Witnesses told police that the people in the van said the driver ran from the scene. Jimenez Prez Kandido, 28, and Jimenez Pascal Kandido, 24, both of Ky. 501, Yosemite, and other passengers said they did not know the driver.
