Dear Editor:
On behalf of the Danville-Boyle County Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors, I would like to extend my heartfelt thank-you to some of our outstanding businesses in this community.
The Chamber of Commerce hosts a Christmas party with the Salvation Army to help some families have a little bit brighter Christmas than they might otherwise have. We are only able to do this through the generosity of our members.
This year, Wal-Mart donated 150 toys, games, dolls, puzzles and more to help. It was joined by Lee's Famous Recipe, which donated the meal for 150 people. Kroger supplied the milk and water, American Greetings the wrapping paper, and State Farm Insurance (Bob Miller) took a picture of each child with Santa. The National Guard donated the use of the armory, and many volunteers from our Chamber of Commerce business members participated to serve the meal, greet the families, set up and clean up and assist with the wrapping of each present.
