LIBERTY - Lyndsey Hoskins scored 23 of her game-high 30 points in the second half Monday, as Casey County rallied by Danville 62-50 for a district win.

Down 29-18 at the half, the Rebels scored the first 12 points of the third quarter and never looked back, leading 38-36 heading to the fourth quarter.

Hoskins also had eight boards and four steals for Casey County (2-2) and Bethany Snow added 13 points. The Rebels were 25 of 58 shooting for the game, for 43 percent, but shot 48 percent in the second half. They also hit 6 of 9 free throws, were 6-for-21 from 3-point range and outrebounded Danville 39-31.

Xerces Simpson led Danville (0-4) with 18 points and Diamond Smith added 15.

Burgin 52, Berea 32: At Berea, Taylor Bottoms had 13 points and nine rebounds and Clara Sanders scored 11 in her first game of the season as the Burgin girls cruised to a road win over Berea.

Ann Harris scored eight and also pulled down nine boards and Stephanie Stewart scored nine and had eight rebounds.

"I'm really pleased with Ann Harris. She's having one of those spells where she's always where the ball is," Burgin coach Keith Monson said. "She had another real nice game."

The Bulldogs led 27-11 at the half and 39-18 after three quarters.

For the game, Burgin (5-3) was 22 of 62 from the field and 5-for-11 from the free throw line while pulling down 36 rebounds.
