STANFORD - A Stanford Elementary School bus and a tractor trailer carrying propane collided yesterday on U.S. 150 near Durham's Dish Barn causing the truck to overturn, but not injuring anyone involved.
The accident occurred at 3:44 p.m., said dispatchers.
According to Lincoln County Fire Coordinator Danny Glass, it appeared as if the semi somehow caught the front corner of the school bus as they were traveling east toward Danville.
The truck dropped off the right shoulder of the highway, overturned and came to a rest on its side. A very small amount of propane leaked, said Glass, but it was contained by Somerset's HAZMAT team and fire marshal.
The school bus was relocated a safe distance away, where a second bus retrieved the students and finished the route.
