Commodities to be distributed

The Boyle County commodities distribution will be 8 a.m. to noon Friday at the National Guard Armory, 482 Stanford Ave. Volunteers are needed to assist with loading boxes this afternoon and after 8 a.m. Friday at the armory, according to Roger Trent, director of the Boyle County Health Department.

Blood drive scheduled Wednesday

Central Kentucky Blood Center will host a blood drive noon to 5 p.m. Wednesday at Wal-Mart SuperCenter in Danville.

Bidders look at Casey jail site

LIBERTY - A dozen potential bidders showed up Wednesday afternoon for a pre-bid conference concerning the 40-bed addition to the Casey County Detention Center.

County Judge-Executive Ronald Wright said most of the company representatives wanted to check out the site and a place where they can park vehicles and trailers.


Bids for the jail addition will be opened at 2 p.m. Dec. 29 in the fiscal court room at the courthouse.

Stanford couple to observe anniversary

Harold and Margie Dean Harris of Stanford will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary from noon to 3 p.m. Saturday with a reception in the Freedom Baptist Church fellowship hall in Stanford. Their children will host the event. The couple request no gifts.
