I thought I was born in a nation where everyone was free - where we have the right to choose what we believe and to practice (or not practice) those beliefs. I must be wrong because every time I turn around I am called a securalist who is determined to undermine traditional values.
Also I must be wrong when I say that Thanksgiving is the start of the holiday season, and I was obviously wrong when I thought that Hannukkah, among other religious celebrations, was part of the holiday season. I thought we were living in the 21st century, not the 18th century, but again I must be wrong.
So, I apologize for being a securalist who is determined to undermine traditional values. Then again, maybe I should embrace being a securalist. After all, maybe traditional values need to be shaken up a bit. Isn't it about time they were?
