I would like to respond to Bart McQueary's letter claiming that Christmas is a heathens' holiday.
He could not be more wrong. His description of the pagan holiday is correct, but with one tiny detail left out. That pagan holiday was not called Christmas. If one will notice, the word "Christ" is in Christmas. Now why would pagans worshipping Odin name the holiday Christmas? Well, they wouldn't. They would call "Odinmas."
Real Christians do not celebrate Christmas? Hmm, I believe in Christ and I celebrate it. Maybe Mr. McQueary thinks himself better than us lowly unreal Christians. I don't think God does.
I wonder if this man dresses his children up in costumes and celebrates another pagan holiday on Oct. 31. I wonder if he knows the true meaning of Halloween or if he just likes to pick on the birth of Jesus Christ.
