I would like to respond to Roger Bowman's comments in the Dec. 20 edition of The Advocate Messenger's "Voice of the People".
First of all, let me start off by saying I am very proud of our country and I stand behind the decisions of our leadership 100 percent. We can play armchair quarterback all we want, but until we are in the shoes of those who have to take the hard right over the easy wrong on a daily basis, we should think twice before uttering such destructive criticism.
Mr. Bowman mentions in the first sentence of his letter that "Americans enjoy fewer and fewer of our so-called constitutional rights." Let me just say this, only in a country with constitutional freedoms such as ours could someone get away with such slanderous, untrue, biased statements. Mr. Bowman just enjoyed his First Amendment Constitutional right to freedom of speech. He must have forgotten that one.
