Centre swept by Oglethorpe

ATLANTA - Poor shooting did in the Centre College men Friday, as the Colonels shot 27 percent from the floor in a 54-44 Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference loss to Oglethorpe University, snapping Centre's five-game winning streak.

Centre also lost the women's game, 69-51.

Centre finished the game 15-for-54 from the field and hit just 6 of 29 3-pointers. Coy Zerhusen led Centre (11-3, 1-3 SCAC) with 15 rebounds to go with his eight points. Reggie Magnusson scored 12 and Matt Nestheide chipped in with 11.

Women

The Centre women trailed just 37-32 at the half, but Oglethorpe pulled away over the final 20 minutes for its first conference win.

Casey Geiman led Centre (2-12, 0-4 SCAC) with 14 points, Lauren Clontz added 11 and Mary Klee scored 10. Jayme Davis led the Colonels with 10 rebounds.

The Colonels finished 19-for-40 from the field and made one of nine 3-pointers. Oglethorpe was 30-for-56 shooting, including a 4-for-13 effort from long range.
