Twelve 'funding scenarios' presented for parking garage

The following are 12 "funding scenarios" presented by Danville City Engineer Earl W. Coffey to Danville City Commission at a special meeting Wednesday morning. The commission passed a motion indicating it "prefers" a 377-space garage:

* 377-space structure

Construction cost: $5.182 million

Construction funding sources: bonds, $3.029 million; Renaissance grant, $442,000; federal grant, $1.710 million

Bond debt service (included in expenses): 20 years

Net income over 10 years: from $189,000 in first year to $230,000 in 10th year

Net expenses over 10 years: from $293,000 in first year to $303,159 in 10th year

Net cash flow over 10 years: -$828,365 (average annual loss, $83,000)

Parking breakdown (with proposed tenants in parentheses): Gilcher (ambulatory surgery center), 200 spaces; Hub building (Haisfield commercial development), 35; Farmers National Bank, 35; downtown study, 27; 80, general public.
