Non-smokers have more choices than smokers

March 10, 2005

Dear Editor:

I think it is time for smokers to stand together. We only have a few restaurants that allow smoking. If non-smokers don't want to be around it, then you have a lot more choices than we do. For the lady from Georgia, if you don't like Danville and its smokers then stay in Georgia. As for the health guy saying non-smoking hasn't hurt Applebee's, maybe not, but I know of a lot of smokers who won't go in there. I think the reason it stays so busy is because of its bar.

If Danville imposes a ban on smoking, then all smokers should spend their money in other towns. See how long Danville stays afloat then. They are already hollering that they are going broke. I guess $800,000 for a fancy fire department didn't help. Look around the bypass, most of it has metal buildings but, no, we can't have a fire department like that.
