Operating on a tip, Danville police arrested a Harrodsburg man Monday night after he allegedly fired gunshots in the area of East Main and Center streets.
Officers captured Michael Dean Allen, 34, of Cummins Drive, after a brief chase on foot and charged him with possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, first-degree wanton endangerment, second-degree fleeing and evading police, and carrying a concealed deadly weapon, police said.
In addition, officers served Allen with an outstanding warrant from Anderson County for failure to appear in court.
Allen remained in the Boyle County Detention Center this morning; bond is pending a pre-trial hearing this afternoon, a jail spokesperson said.
Events leading to Allen's arrest began unfolding at 9:15 p.m. Monday when police received a call about shots fired. The caller said the suspect armed with a pistol had walked to a pay phone on the corner of Main Street and Stanford Road.
