Lincoln routs McCreary 11-1

Danville wins, but Boyle loses

Jessica Stringer and Jenny Jones drove in three runs each and Jones allowed only two hits on the mound as Lincoln County rolled to an 11-1 victory over McCreary Central Thursday night at Stearns.

Lincoln (2-0) scored five runs in the top of the sixth inning, then held McCreary in the bottom of the inning to end the game an inning early.

Stringer had a single and a double, while Jones had one hit. Sarah Fitzpatrick and Jenny Ralston drove in two runs each for the Lady Patriots.

Lincoln left the bases loaded in both the second and third innings before breaking through for five runs in the fifth and five more in the sixth.

"We hit the ball extremely well all night ... and Jenny Jones pitched a really good game for us," Lincoln coach Pam Young said.

Jones struck out eight batters and walked six.

Lincoln got 10 hits and seven walks off McCreary pitcher Heather Cash, who had three strikeouts.

Kendra Garris had two hits, while Fitzpatrick, Ralston, Shakelia Miller, Savannah Lane and Samantha Stapleton had one hit each.

Danville 4, Model 1 - At Richmond, Jerrica Potts had three singles and two RBIs to lead Danville (2-1) over Model (0-1).

The Lady Admirals took a 2-0 lead in the third inning, then added to their lead with single runs in the fourth and sixth innings.

Danville pitcher Chelsea Wallace struck out 14 batters, walked only two and allowed three hits.

Kaneisha Johnson, Morgan Young, Sarah Vonderbrink and Renee Chiu had one hit each for Danville, and Johnson and Wallace each drove in a run.

Model's Kendra Ritter had seven strikeouts and one walk.

Pulaski County 5, Boyle County 0 - At Somerset, Boyle got only one hit in a shutout loss to Pulaski.

Amber Mills had the only hit for the Lady Rebels, though Boyle batters walked eight times.

Meanwhile, Pulaski got six hits off losing pitcher Mary Beth Pennington, who had two strikeouts and one walk.
