HARRODSBURG - The theft of a handgun is the Mercer County Crime Stoppers Crime of the Month.
Harrodsburg police report that someone took a package containing a No. 2 1880 Smith and Wesson black powder handgun from the residence at 508 N. Main St. on March 9. The serial number of the weapon is 149833; the handgun is valued at $200.
A reward of up to $250 will go to anyone with information leading to the arrest and conviction in this case. Anyone with information can call Crime Stoppers at (859) 733-9115. Crime Stoppers will pay cash for information leading to the conviction or prevention of any major crime. Callers do not have to identify themselves.
Mercer County Crime Stoppers has a standing reward of $200 for information on methamphetamine labs and will pay cash when the labs are raided. The agency also has a standing reward of $100 for information about drug traffickers and people passing forged checks.
