Garrett Elementary tops Casey schools in attendance

LIBERTY - Garrett Elementary School came out on top last month in the attendance percentage, according to an announcement at Monday's county Board of Education meeting.

The school won for best attendance for students, certified and classified personnel. Students had 95.86 percent attendance, certified personnel had 95.85 percent and classified personnel had 97.63 percent attendance.

District wide average attendance was 92.34 percent.

The school will get $600 as its reward. Garrett has won twice before for best student and certified personnel attendance, and once for classified attendance.

Students at Phelps Elementary School also received medals for last year's test scores. They are:

Brooke Hadley, proficient in arts and humanities and practical living and distinguished in math and social studies; Breanna Jessie, proficient in arts and humanities; Katie Laman, Jordan Lewis, Beth Wright, each proficient in math;

Joe Lee, proficient in math and distinguished in social studies; Rachel McDonald, proficient in math and practical living, and distinguished in social studies;

Brandon Meeks, proficient in math, social studies and practical living; Chasity Murphy, proficient in social studies and practical living; Zachary Murphy, proficient in social studies and practical living, and distinguished in math; Tyler Pittman, proficient in math and practical living; Bobby Simpson, proficient in math and arts and humanities; Zach Williams, proficient in practical living; Beth Wright, proficient in math; Jordon Wright, proficient in math and social studies;

Gregory Abston, proficient in science and writing portfolio; Zazma Andrews, Eric Wilson and Lucas Wilson, each proficient in science; Raechelle Buis and Mindy Davenport, each proficient in reading, science and writing portfolio;

Jessica Edwards, proficient in reading and writing portfolio; Margaret Elmore, proficient in reading, and distinguished in science and writing portfolio; Briana Isaacs, proficient in reading and science;

Whitney Lawhorn, proficient in writing portfolio and distinguished in reading and science; Holly Luttrell, proficient in science and writing portfolio;

Lacey Lynn, proficient in reading and writing portfolio; and proficient in science; and Dustin Widner, proficient in reading, and distinguished in science.
