Dear Editor:
I thought that we were a free country, and we have the right to do what we want. They are saying that we can't go to certain places and smoke, because of the second-hand smoke. We can't smoke but we can drink in food establishments. What is the difference?
We can get drunk and get in our cars and risk hurting ourselves and others but we can't smoke because of the risk of cancer, which may take years to develop, and drunk drivers can take seconds to kill someone. If we can't smoke, I think that we shouldn't be able to drink in restaurants either.
