GRADUATES
Lindsey Wilson College: Kaley Arnett and Amanda Benedict, both of Danville, were among 172 graduates who participated in the college's 80th spring commencement ceremony May 14, in the college's Biggers Sports Center.
Arnett earned an associate of arts degree in early childhood care and development.
Benedict earned a bachelor of arts degree in human services and counseling.
In his commencement address, Kentucky author Wendell Berry challenged the graduates to end violence in their lifetimes.
Wake Forest University: Geoffrey T. Barton of Danville, bachelor of arts degree in art history.
Georgetown College: Bachelor of science degrees to Nicholas P. Edelen, son of Mr. and Mrs. Perry F. Edelen of Danville; Kristina R. Elks, daughter of Libby Elks of Danville; and Michelle K. Staed, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Greg Staed of Danville.
University of Kentucky: Timothy Lee Adams, bachelor of arts degree in agriculture communication, education and leadership. He is the son of Jim and Ann Carolyn Adams of Stanford and employed by Fastenal Co. in Georgetown.
