Writing workshop on violence is Friday

A writing workshop for victims and survivors of domestic violence, and advocates against it, will be held Friday. The topic is "Changing the Legacy through Verbal and Written Communication." The workshop is designed to increase attendees' knowledge of domestic violence through interviews of victims and survivors.

The place and location will be announced.

1995 DHS graduates set reunion

Danville High School class of 1995 will hold a reunion from noon-6 p.m. Saturday at the Millennium Park pavilion and at the Great American Brass Band Festival. The reunion is $15 per person, $25 per couple and there is no cost for children. For more information, call (859) 329-9538.

Two named to Casey E911 board

LIBERTY - Two people were named Monday to fill vacancies on the Casey County E911 Emergency Communications Board.

Casey Fiscal Curt named Kathy Hines to represent the county Emergency Medical Service, and Dale Wethington to represent the county volunteer firefighters on the board. Hines replaces Algie Atwood, who recently retired as coordinator with EMS, and Wethington replaces Danny Wolford, who has retired as fire chief of the Clementsville Fire Department.

Third Street sidewalk closed

The portion of the sidewalk next to the Hub building on Third Street will be closed beginning today through July 27. The parking lot area will not be affected.

Food sale/fish fry set

Junction council postpones meeting

JUNCTION CITY - The Junction City Council meeting scheduled Thursday has been postponed until June 21.

Corrections

The name of the family who owns property which the Mercer County Board of Education has contracted to buy was incorrect in the June 5 issue of The Kentucky Advocate. The correct name is Conder.

To clarify Friday's story regarding the budget of Stanford's Main Street manager, the salary for the manager is $21,400, plus retirement and health insurance.
