Dear Editor:
On May 14, the postal workers had their annual food drive. Once again, along with the citizens of Danville and Boyle County, they came through for their friends and neighbors who may be in need. Their combined efforts brought more than 8,000 pounds of food for Community Friends Food Bank of Danville. Without their help we would not be able to supply the much-needed food for those who come to the food bank.
To say thank you seems so little, but thank you to all who had a part in this year's food drive. A special thanks to Dale who is our contact person at the post office. He is the one who stays and weighs the food. He waits there at the post office until we have the food loaded. I am sure he has other things he would rather be doing on a warm Saturday afternoon. Also, we would like to say thank you for the pizza furnished, and to Judge-Executive Tony Wilder and others, who allowed the inmates to help us load and transport the food.
