Dean's list

Kent State University: Melinda Kitzmiller, daughter of Leo and Lori Statom. She is a 2002 Boyle County High School graduate, was initiated into Alpha Kappa Delta, the International Sociology Honor Society and Pi Gamma Mu, the International Honor Society in Social Science for her outstanding academic achievements.

Midway College of Nursing: Tamra Stines of Danville for the spring semester. Her parents are Dennis and Judy Kinkead of Burgin.

Wake Forest University: Geoffrey Barton and Mary Beth Ballard, both of Danville.

Samford University: Brittany Michelle Stillwell, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Keith A. Stillwell of Danville.

Union University: Sarah Chloe Young of Perryville.

Gardner-Webb University: Kathleen D. Peterson of Danville.

Graduates

Transylvania University: Tevis Potts, daughter of Donald and Cititia Potts of Danville, received a bachelor's degree in psychology with a minor in political science. Potts was a graduate of Boyle County High School.

Dickinson College: Julie Ann McGlothlin, daughter of Lyle and Mary Ann McGlothlin of Danville, graduated summa cum laude with bachelor's degrees in English and Spanish. She is a member of Phi Beta Kappa and she received the Margaret McAlpin Ramos Award in Spanish. She was also on the dean's list for the 2004-05 school year.

Kentucky Wesleyan College: Jessica Osborne, daughter of Steve Osborne of Danville and Catherine Osborne of Perryville, graduated magna cum laude in May with bachelor's degrees in accounting and business administration. Osborne was a graduate of Boyle County High School. She was also on the dean's list for the spring semester.

Samford University: Melissa Danette Harris of Mount Vernon and Amanda Michelle Wesley of Liberty received doctorate degrees in pharmacy.

Other

Transylvania University: Beta Mu Chapter of Delta Sigma Phi Fraternity recently received the prestigious North-American Interfraternity Conference 2005 Undergraduate Chapter Award of Distinction. Danville resident Jonathan Lee is a member of the award-winning fraternity. The biology major is the son of David and Jill Lee.

Scholarship

National College of Business and Technology: Megan VonLinger of Junction City received an Imagine America Scholarship and plans to attend the Danville campus. The award-winning Imagine America scholarship program helps thousands of high school seniors each year to pursue a post-secondary career education at hundreds of career schools across the United States.

It was launched in 1998 by the Career Training Foun-dation, the not-for-profit affiliate of the Career College Association. Each year, every high school in the United States and Puerto Rico can select up to three graduating seniors to receive a $1,000 Imagine America scholarship.
