FRANKFORT - The Judicial Nominating Commission announced Thursday the name of three candidates for the vacant circuit court judge position in Lincoln, Pulaski and Rockcastle counties.

Attorney William David "Bill" Gregory of Mount Vernon, attorney Paul Francis Henderson III of Somerset, and district judge David Austin Tapp, also of Somerset, were named Thursday by the commission, which is led by Chief Justice Joseph E. Lambert.

The bench was left vacant by the death of Judge Robert E. Gillum on April 20.

The three nominees will now be presented to the governor for final selection.

According to the Administrative Office of the Courts, Gregory practices law in Mount Vernon and was previously the Rockcastle county attorney and master commissioner of Rockcastle County Circuit Court. He is an Army veteran.

Henderson practices law in Somerset. He received his degree from the University of Kentucky College of Law, and a bachelor's degree in math and chemistry from Centre College.
