Do something about gas prices

August 05, 2005

Dear Editor:

I am geting tired of gas stations raising the price of gasoline every time the wind changes directions. They changed it this week just because some oil country king was being buried. That had no effect on the value of the gas in their underground tanks. The value of that gas only changes when they get a new delivery with a new wholesale cost.

I asked an attendant who told them when to change gas prices, and I was told: "A message comes on the computer." That's price fixing. Why does every station in town match each other?

In Florida, they raised prices when the hurricane was coming and all of those people had to get out of the area quick. That's price gouging. Who is going to do something about this? It sure won't be the oil baron in the White House.
