Dear Editor:
I want to compliment the people of Danville for amazing courtesy demonstrated recently. As part of a long funeral procession from the Preston-Pruitt Funeral Home to U.S. 150 and south to Lincoln County, we were amazed that practically everyone stopped until we had passed. The drivers showed much more consideration than I had ever witnessed. A gentleman even stopped his riding mower while we came past him.
This was for the July 20 funeral and burial of George Hurt, a Danville native, veteran and true gentleman.
