A head-on collision on U.S. 127 Monday between two trucks, one pulling a boat on a trailer, resulted in serious injuries, state police said.
Gregory Crawford, of Danville, was driving south when the accident occurred. He suffered multiple injuries, including a broken hip and clavicle. He was taken to Ephraim McDowell Regional Medical Center and later transported to University of Kentucky Medical Center, police said.
John Bodner, of Danville, also was taken to Ephraim McDowell Regional Center for a wrist injury.
Trooper Brandon Curlis said a Dodge Ram pick-up truck hit another Dodge Ram pick-up truck when the vehicle's brakes locked up on wet roads. The accident occurred about four miles north of Hustonville on U.S. 127, Curlis said.
"John Bodner, of Danville, was pulling a boat on a trailer when the vehicles stopped suddenly in front of him due to traffic coming out of Don's Food Mart," Curlis said. Bodner told Curlis that his brakes locked up due to the slick roadway, as well as the weight of the boat behind him.
