Paul D. Lewis, 82, of Lee Drive, Stanford, died Sunday, Aug. 28 at the Ephraim McDowell Regional Medical Center in Danville.
A native of Lincoln Co., he was born March 26, 1923 to the late Charles and Evalena Carrier Lewis. He was a retired Kentucky Department of Corrections officer in LaGrange, a WWII veteran, and member of Green River Pentecostal Church.
He was also preceded in death by a sister, Alma Denham and four brothers, Woodrow, Omer, Lawrence, and Bill Lewis.
Survivors include two sisters, Katherine Meece of Somerset and Ruth Christine Nuesse of Reading, OH.; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were held Tuesday, Aug. 30 at the Green River Pentecostal Church with Rev. Rick Naylor officiating. Burial was in Buffalo Springs Cemetery.
Active pallbearers were David and Josh Milburn, David, Dwayne, Charlie and Danny Lewis, Chris Denham, Billy Carter, and John Ray and Bobby Brown. Honorary pallbearers were Lee Roy Wilcher, Bill Walls, Roger Lewis, Elroy Griffin, Johnny Walls, Charles Lewis, Glenn Lewis, Buddy Lewis, and deacons and elders of Green River Pentecostal Church.
