The Great Olympian Traditional Brass Jazz Band got out of the raging floodwaters of New Orleans, but members left their belongings behind.
Darryl Adams, who plays the saxophone, said the band members are scattered but are currently working to get instruments and go back to work.
"We're all alive, but everything is on hold now, Adams said.
"I'm with my sister near Houston," Adams said Tuesday.
Some of the others, Jeffrey Hill, Tanio Hingle, Kenneth Terry, Eddie King and Kerry Hunter, are in or near Houston which will be the band's temporary headquarters.
"They're all OK," he said, while waiting for a call about someone who will help them out with instruments. "We did not get anything out."
