Tudor/Whitaker

Cheryl Tudor and Rodney L. Whitaker of Nicholasville were united in marriage September 24, at 11:00 in the morning, at The Wedding Chapel in Nicholasville.

John H. Presko of the Victorian Christian Church of Lancaster officiated the ceremony. A reception was held immediately following the ceremony.

The bride is the daughter of Jimmy Barnett of Versailles and Carolyn Barnett of Nicholasville. The groom is the son of Marie Canter and the late Henry Whitaker Jr. of Nicholasville.

The best man was Daniel Biddle, son of the bride. Both the ring bearer, Dalton Biddle, and the flower girl, Katey Tudor, are children of the bride.

The bride attended Jessamine High School and Eastern Kentucky University and is a homemaker.

The groom attended Jessamine High School and is employed by Frisch's.

Reed/Burton

Angela Reed of Nicholasville and Steven Burton of Smyrna, Tenn., were married July 2 at Wilmore Free Methodist Church.

The ceremony was performed by the Rev. Bobby Becknell.

The bride is the daughter of Robert and Nancy Reed of Nicholasville, and is a graduate of Jessamine County High School and Eastern Kentucky University. She is employed at Smyrna Middle School.

She was given in marriage by her father.

The groom is the son of Tommie Burton of Nicholasville and Judy Uhte of Richmond, Ind. He is a graduate of Jessamine County High School and is employed at Tradesmen International.

The best man was Tommie Burton; the matron of honor was Stacey Ray. Bell boys were Justin Reed and Kyle Anderson. The flower girls were Lauren Anderson and Abbi Reed. Attendants were April Reed, Kimberly Farris, Gretchen Falkenburg, and Sherry Anderson. Groomsmen were Mike Montgomery, Spiz Watts, Terrik Leighton, and Scott Reed.

The reception was held at the Lansdowne Club in Lexington.

The couple honeymooned in Ellenton, Fla., and reside in Smyrna, Tenn.

Compton/Cranford

Bill and Arlene Compton of Wilmore are pleased to announce the upcoming marriage of their daughter, Melanie to Jody Cranford of Charlotte, N.C.

Mr. Cranford is the son of Tina and Chip Cranford of Charlotte, North Carolina.

The bride-to-be attended West Jessamine High School and the University of Kentucky. She is self-employed.

The future groom attended Myers Park High School and Appalachian State University. He is employed with The Southwestern Company in Nashville, Tenn.

The wedding is planned for July 29, 2006 at 7:30 p.m. at Castle Hill Farm in Versailles.

Otter/Scott

Kristin Michele Otter and Jonathan Brady Scott, of Durham, N.C., have announced their engagement.

The bride-to-be is the daughter of John Otter of Lexington and Denise Walters of Midway, and the granddaughter of Manuel and Sue Walters of Nicholasville. She is a graduate of East Jessamine High School and is employed at Raleigh/Durham International Airport in Raleigh. Kristin is also in her final year at Strayer University in Cary, N.C.

The future groom is the son of Harold and Donna Scott of Garrett. He is a graduate of Allen Central High School and is employed at Duke University Medical Center in Durham, N.C.

The wedding has been set for 5:30 p.m. Saturday, October 15, at the Ramada Inn in Paintsville, Ky.

The couple plan to spend their honeymoon in Cancun, Mexico and reside in Durham, N.C.

Stinnetts to celebrate 58th anniversary

Melvin and Thelma Rose Stinnett of 306 Stinnett Lane of Jessamine County will celebrate their 58th wedding anniversary on Oct. 15.

The couple were married on Oct. 15, 1947, by the Rev. W.I. Peel.

They have seven children, Bobby, Roann, Sandy, Randy, Mickey, Rita and Florence; and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
