Pioneers run over Carroll

CARROLLTON - Cory Jackson ran for 209 yards and three touchdowns on 14 carries and Harrodsburg rolled up 437 yards of offense Friday to beat Carroll County 35-28.

Jackson had scoring runs of 1 and 69 yards in the first quarter and Brandon Ford scored on an 87-yard run in the second quarter to put Harrodsburg up 18-0 at the half.

Harrodsburg is 3-6 overall and 3-1 in Class A, District 4 heading into next week's finale against Danville.

Freeman Edwards had a 4-yard scoring run and Jackson had an 80-yard sprint for another score in the third quarter, sandwiched in between a Corey Stark 5-yard touchdown pass for Carroll (2-7, 1-3).

Stark had a 20-yard touchdown pass near the end of the third quarter and threw for a 47-yard score in the fourth quarter to make it a 32-19 game.

But Ford picked off Stark and returned the ball 57 yards for a score that gave the Pioneers a 38-19 lead and put the game away.

Ford finished with 154 yards on 18 carries, Edwards ran nine times for 45 yards and was 2-of-6 passing for 21 yards and Rashad Buster had eight yards on three carries.
