James Franklin Sowder, 67, of Crab Orchard, died Tuesday, Nov. 1 in Danville.
A native of Rockcastle Co., he was born June 2, 1938 to the late Eddie Franklin and Laura Alice Sowder. He was a retired farmer.
He was also preceded in death by a son, James Randall Sowder.
Survivors include three sons, Rick and Kenny Sowder both of Crab Orchard and Mike Sowder of Versailles; one daughter, Sandy Smith of Danville; one brother, Edward Sowder, Jr., of Brodhead; four sisters, Francis Humphress of Alexandria, Hazel Smith of Depauw, IN., Helen Lunsford of Cincinnati, OH., and Faye Gullett of Shepherdsville; four brothers, Ronnie Sowder of Shelbyville, David Sowder of Mt. Vernon, Mark Sowder of Crab Orchard, and Chris Sowder of Brodhead; 17 grandchildren; and five great grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Friday, Nov. 4 at the McKnight Funeral Home in Crab Orchard with Revs. Clyde Lunsford and David Smith officiating. Burial was in Mt. Zion Church of Christ Cemetery.
