An abandoned historic house on Keene Road was destroyed by fire last week.
The house, which belonged to the Day family, was located at 1276 Keene Road.
Both Nicholasville and Jessamine County firefighters responded to the call on Friday, Nov. 18. Fifty bales of hay were also on fire, but extinguished by firefighters.
Jessamine County Firechief Mike Rupard said he decided to order firefighters to let the house burn to the ground due to the unsafe condition of the structure had the blaze been extinguished and the house left partially standing.
No one was injured in the fire.
