Notes from UK's loss to Tennessee

LEXINGTON - Notes from Kentucky's 28-6 loss to Tennessee Saturday:

* Kicker Taylor Begley of Boyle County hit two field goals and finished the year 12-for-15 despite missing a 43-yard try in the second quarter that stopped his streak of nine consecutive successful kicks. He finished with 226 points, third on UK's all-time scoring list, and 36 field goals, second on Kentucky's all-time list.

* Twenty-five UK seniors were honored before the game. They included Begley and running back Andrew Hopewell of Danville, who missed his last season because of an injury.

* Kentucky limited Tennessee to just four third-down conversions and held its final three opponents to 8-for-39 on third-down conversions. The Cats also recorded their first safety since Sept. 6, 2003, against Murray State.

* Sophomore linebacker Wesley Woodyard had a career-high 18 tackles, including two tackles for loss. He also broke up a pass and recovered a fumble, his fourth of the season.

* Freshman quarterback Curtis Pulley set career-high passing marks in completions (23), attempts (33) and yards (155).

* Rafael Little's 1,982 all-purpose yards, including 176 Saturday, are the sixth most ever by a Southeastern Conference player and his 180.2 yards per game is fifth best in SEC history. He broke the UK record of 1,922 yards set by Derek Abney in 2002.

* Little had 11 catches for 93 yards. That's the fourth highest reception total in school history and most ever by a running back.

* Little increased his rushing total to 1,310 yards in two seasons and moved past Don Phelps into 19th place on the all-time UK rushing list.

* Little finished the year averaging 16.9 yards per punt return. He led the Southeastern Conference in that category going into the game.
